ChiFish: Exploring OzCHI 2014

Developed by Jon Pearce, the University of Melbourne,
with design and build by digital agency Involved.

ChiFish will help you to explore the OzCHI 2014 conference papers based on your personal preferences, rather than keyword search. This is a different metaphor for exploring than you commonly use with a search engine like Google. Rather than needing to identify keywords to define a search, with ChiFish you use sliders to enter your preferences about the kind of things that you know you like. The papers that best match your preferences come to the top. You can still carry out a search for an author of a paper, and that paper will come to the top along with others with similar characteristics that you also might like to read. You can add papers to your personal schedule, and explore the conference attendees.

This app is powered by iFish – an exploration engine developed at the University of Melbourne that is being used in many diverse research projects relating to exploration. You can find more information and see these projects by following a link on this page: http://ifish.io

Maybe you’d like to use iFish for your conference? Let us know.
